More About Scott Battas, CMAA
Beyond wins, championships, and facilities, Battas believes the greatest responsibility of an athletic program is to develop leaders and positively impact young people. This philosophy
inspired him to create L-EAT-ERSHIP, an innovative student-athlete leadership academy built around three foundational principles: Energy, Attitude, and Toughness (EAT). Meeting twice
monthly before school, the program regularly attracts more than 100 student-athletes and provides practical tools for developing leadership, character, accountability, and a championship
mindset. What began as an initiative at Mascoutah has evolved into a leadership development platform designed to help athletic programs and schools across the country build stronger
leaders and more connected teams. A nationally recognized speaker and presenter, Battas regularly shares his experiences and leadership philosophies with athletic directors, coaches, educators, and student-athletes across the country. His message emphasizes intentional leadership, relationship building, organizational culture, and the belief that lasting success is measured by the impact we have on others.

Throughout his career, Battas has received numerous professional honors, including:
● 2019: Coach & Athletic Director Magazine's 40 Under 40 honoree
● 2019: Illinois Principals Association Southwest Region Athletic Director of the Year
● 2019: Illinois Athletic Directors Association Division 7 Athletic Director of the Year
● 2023–2024: President of the Illinois Athletic Directors Association (IADA)
● 2025: Illinois Athletic Directors Association Division 7 Athletic Director of the Year.
Through his work as an athletic administrator, leadership speaker, and author of The L-EAT-ERSHIP Code, Battas continues to challenge leaders to be intentional about the energy they bring, the attitude they choose, and the toughness they demonstrate when facing adversity. His mission is simple: Build Leaders. Inspire Excellence. Leave a Legacy. Above all, Battas takes the greatest pride in his family. He resides in Mascoutah, Illinois, with his wife, Kara, and their four children, Brynn, Beau, Baer, and Britt
